To The Exhausted Mom, I See You.

All the coffee!

Hi there,

I see you are tired, exhausted. We don’t say it out loud much or we pretend we are not tired because that is to be expected. If we complain we might offend someone and if we act like we are perfect and never tired we might offend someone else. We could never win! So here I am today, telling you that I am freaking exhausted! I know how hard it is to raise kids and some of us work outside of the home as well. We feed, we clean, we change diapers, we mend boo boos and we soothe sick little ones. But there is a mental stress that comes with it too; there is that constant check list in our head of everything that needs done to keep the household running smoothly. I know dads carry this burden too, but I think us moms take on a huge chunk of that and here are some examples:

– Keeping track of all the fundraisers from school and extracurricular activities.

– Making sure home work is done every day.

– Packing lunches they will actually eat at school or preschool.

– Holding sick kids while trying to sanitize the whole house at the same time.

– Making sure your social calendar includes fun activities for the kids.

There are also countless other things us moms have to constantly keep up with like:

  • Keeping up with the school’s weekly calendar to make sure we don’t miss those dress like a superhero days.
  • Scheduling all Doctor appointments and actually getting the kids there.
  • Keeping up with constantly changing clothing sizes and shopping for the new ones you need.
  • Volunteering and keeping up with PTO events.
  • Making sure your kid does not look homeless on picture day and making sure you paid for those pictures on time.
  • Figuring out dinner daily with picky kids.
  • Keeping up with play dates and countless birthday parties.

It is exhausting at times. And yes, you are allowed to be tired and to not always enjoy these long days. The good days always make up for it, but until then, I see you!
