Ventriloquist Lynn Trefzger Brings Her Trunk Full of Friends to Pittsburgh!

Have you ever had a childhood hobby that got out of hand? That explains Lynn Trefzger’s start as a ventriloquist/comedienne. For more than 30 years, Lynn has given life to a trunk full of comical characters, performing for family audiences worldwide.

Enjoy a night of affordable, laugh-out-loud family fun when Lynn Trefzger performs live at the Hillman Center for Performing Arts in Fox Chapel as part of Shady Side Academy’s Hillman Performing Arts Series on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m.

You’ll be treated to Lynn’s vocal illusion talents when you meet a drunken but lovable camel, a grumpy old man and a feisty little girl – and maybe even some audience members who are brought up on stage for the action! Lynn’s show is spontaneously funny, and no two shows are alike! Take a sneak peek at Lynn and her sassy friends here.

Lynn and her many voices were first brought to national audiences on TV’s popular Star Search, and since then she has performed on TNN, VH-1, Lifetime and Comedy Central. She is featured in I’m No Dummy, a whimsical and insightful documentary film about the extraordinary art of ventriloquism, also starring ventriloquists Jay Johnson and Jeff Dunham.

Tickets are only $30 for adults and $24 for kids and seniors. Purchase tickets online at www.thehillman.org or by calling the Hillman Center Box Office at 412-968-3040.

As part of the Hillman Center’s commitment to community outreach, Lynn will also visit UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh to perform for patients while she’s in town.

On April 13, The Flying Karamazov Brothers promise a night full of fun and zany antics. Come and belly-laugh the night away with their wild theatrics, arcane errata, astonishing juggling feats, and even flame throwing!

And don’t forget the Hillman Series’ black box shows, which offer a more intimate, coffeehouse-style experience that makes for a great date night without the kids. Remaining black box shows include pianist Deanna Witkowski performing Raindrop: Improvisations on Chopin on Dec. 8 and the Irish trio Poor Man’s Gambit on March 9, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day!

Now in its 13th year of programming, the Hillman Performing Arts Series offers a diverse lineup of shows to entertain audiences of all ages. The Hillman Center for Performing Arts is located on the campus of Shady Side Academy Senior School at 423 Fox Chapel Road in Fox Chapel. It features two theater spaces: a large, 665-seat main stage theater and a smaller, more intimate black box theater. As part of its mission, the Hillman Center proudly shares its visiting artists with local community and outreach organizations, such as Children’s Hospital.
