Memorial Day Events In and Around Pittsburgh

There are many parades, ceremonies, and events happening around Pittsburgh to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Wishing you a Happy Memorial Day with your families!

Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum Celebration

When: May 27, 2024 @ 11: am – 4:00 pm

Where: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum

Honor those who have served our country by attending Soldiers & Sailors’ annual Memorial Day Ceremony & Celebration.

Camp Chase Fifes and Drums, one of the top fife and drum corps in the country that perform Civil War music in period costumes, will be performing patriotic military music throughout the day culminating with a concert at the end of the day

This rain-or-shine event is FREE and open to the public.


 

Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium – Red, Wild & Blue Day

When: Monday, May 27th

Where: Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium

Kick off the summer season at the Zoo! Enjoy the day with family and friends. The day will be filled with a variety of animals receiving special enrichment.


 

Hookstown Grange Memorial Day Car Cruise

When: Monday, May 27 – Noon to 3 pm (come before 10:30 am and watch the parade)

Where: Hookstown Fairgrounds – 1198 State Route 168, Hookstown, PA 15050

  • Open to all makes and models
  • 50/50 raffle and food available

Lawrenceville Memorial Day Parade

When: May 27th 0 10 am

Where: Parade kicks off at 36th and Butler Street and ends at Allegheny Cemetery.

Join us as we remember the fallen and honor those who have served our nation. Parade will begin at 36th Street at 10:00 am and make its way down Butler Street to Allegheny Cemetery for a military memorial service. Free festivities to follow! Bring a blanket or folding chair to relax with family and friends in Pittsburgh’s oldest park. Enjoy food trucks, music by 96.9 BOB FM, face painting, a classic car show, and more.


 

American Legion Post 548 Memorial Day Parade

When: Monday, May 27th – 9:45 am 

Where: Richland Twp. Park; 1157 Van Velsor Dr., Bakerstown, PA 15007

Post 548 will be recognizing all service members, and all members of American Legion Post 548. This year they will also recognize the Richland Emergency Medical Services (EMS). (Free picnic to follow)


South Hills Memorial Day Parade

When: Monday, May 27th @10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Where: Brookline war memorial – GPS address is – 1019 Brookline Blvd.

Starts on Brookline Blvd. It proceeds to Pioneer Avenue thru Dormont, to Mt. Lebanon Cemetery where services will begin at 11:30 am.


West View Memorial Day Parade

When: Monday, May, 27th @ 10:00 am

Where: West Penn Foot and Ankle Society – 4800 Friendship Avenue, Suite N1 Pittsburgh

The parade will start at Highland Avenue and end at West View VFW. Following our tradition, there will be a Memorial Service in the parking lot immediately following the parade. ALL members of the VFW and the Auxiliary are invited to participate in the parade.


Memorial Day Party at Ruckus Coffee Gallery – Vegan Expo!
